Put Lawmakers To Work For You.
Scream at Senators & Representatives. Call your Governor.
Demand a plan to get carbon pollution on the decline. We need increased energy efficiency & lower use of fossil fuels nationwide now. We also need a plan to quickly replace coal, oil & gas in our energy system with non-carbon polluting energy.

Call, wait a week, repeat. Call, wait a week, repeat -- until you see results.
Make sure any plan is measured by its ability to keep global warming below +2C.
As a guide post, we need to see total carbon emissions going down by 6 -15% each year, depending on when the action starts.

Tell A Friend. Tell Your Family.
Every man, woman & child has gotta to know:

whats happening
what needs to be done
by when

The main facts of global warming should all be common knowledge. Start by explaining the situation to a close friend or somebody in your family. Print & share a 1-page hand-out of the simple science infographic to help you explain (front & back page).

Sit down with your person & walk them through the information. Ask them:

Part 1: Did you know our use of coal, oil & gas causes climate change?
Part 2 -- arrow graphic: The governments of pretty much the whole world agreed that causing the world to warm more than 2-degrees celsius would be unacceptably dangerous. Before agreeing to this, countries of the world met every year for over 20 years -- reviewing the science, debating options & analyzing climate change.

Is the agreement of the world enough for you to believe that we should keep warming below 2 degrees Celsius or less? (If not, learn more here, here, or here).
Do you see that -- in about 25 years -- earth could warm this dangerous amount, if we continue using fossil fuels as we have been? Add 25 years to your kids' or grandkids current ages. What do you think about the idea that we may be forcing them to live with dangerous climate problems that we are creating? Would you rather prevent that?

Part 2 -- bubble graphic: Do you see that if we go on for 6 more years as we have been, we'd have much lower odds of keeping earth's warming below +2C than if we start now?
Part 3: Do you see that we need to cut the carbon dioxide entering the atmosphere by about 6% starting now or 15% each year starting in 2020? Every year that we allow carbon emissions to grow, larger annual cuts are needed later.

After you explain our situation to one person, ask them to help by explaining global warming to at least 1 person. Then, ask yourself: Are there 5 people I could explain this to? Or 10? If you are outgoing, you could tackle your whole church group, book club or softball team.
